I block my headset from the internet so I can control updates and not be forced to install updates that I don't want

I'm currently on v83 and its the best one I've had in a while (low bar I know). It solved the sparkling issue with VD (VD & DCS is my main use case) although the controllers are still a hot mess and barely usable

Should I stay on v83 or update to whatever the latest is?

And what is the latest public release these days (I'm not on PTC). Is it 2.1 or 2.2?
