Haven’t had cornrows/braids in over 25 years. For the past 7 months I have been growing my fro out just to see how long my hair could get and because barber cuts in my area are about $70 and my hair be growing quick! At first I was nervous because I don’t like my hairline and my hair is habitually dry from all the salt and pepper I have, which in hindsight is probably why I was growing my hair out, but that’s beside the point. I’m very happy with how it came out and very happy with my braider! I’ve already received compliments on it. I hope this serves as a push to those who are hesitant to just go and do it for YOURSELF.

I know it can be done, but I feel I am constantly impeded in my pursuit. Called my insurance and they said that to remain in-network in order to purchase a pair of Meta glasses, I should go thru my VSP-affiliated optometrist office AND to make sure they carry "tech wear". Well, I found an office near me that carries the Meta glasses, but the tech mentioned their office does not apply the VSP insurance to the Meta glasses. I found that odd and called VSP again and told them if there was some sort of miscommunication and relayed to the VSP rep what the office tech told me. The VSP rep said, for all intents and purposes, that the optometrist office CAN apply the vision insurance at their discretion. This seems shitty to me. If you are an office that accepts VSP insurance, or any insurance for that matter, why do get to pick and choose which brands your customers' insurance is applied to? Why even be affiliated with that vision insurance at all? Ugh.
