Coachlite restoration help

I am hoping to restore this coachlite without losing the original wax. The master fluid is crystal clear and the coil doesn’t seem to be in bad condition. I don’t see any visible debris in the wax.

When the lamp is off, the wax forms into a solid mass. When it is turned on, it throws hundreds of tiny wax balls and the majority of the wax forms into 1 or 2 big blobs that kinda float around near the bottom and don’t go back down to the coil. It seems like the tiny wax balls are coming off the coil itself. It doesn’t really snake at all like I would expect.

Should I filter the wax? Should I remove masted fluid and try to melt down to recombine the wax? Replace the coil?

I don’t have much experience with very old lamps like this one, so any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I do have oneshot vintage to replace the fluid if I absolutely have to, but I’d rather keep it original if it can be salvaged. 😭

My partner got me a TMNT branded lamp from 2011 that was new in the box but badly needed filtering. Loving the neon green wax and the clear MF.

Cracking the grande open to do clear MF as soon as my one shot comes in. 🤞
