What a timing. I was unsure if I should go with Plex lifetime or Jellyfin cause I had a hard time first to set it up on my Synology NAS, but I finally did, even reverse proxy with the help of chatgpt/gemini and now I have a way better setup than I had before with Plex.

Seeing the Plex lifetime pass increasing even more just made my day. They completely lost the plot. I mean for real, who would pay such a price? They will be gone within 2 years max.

And with Jellyfin? Well, I love everything of it, but there's one single thing I'm not that happy about and it's the UI and App Responsiveness. Sometimes it's so incredibly slow to open up a movie or to switch between sections.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm using the same NAS and the same network of course that before I used with Plex, and Plex was incredibly fast.

Is it a setting I'm missing? Or does Plex handle metadata and images different so they are immediately available while Jellyfin (obviously) does not?

Would Emby be faster and more similar to Plex?

Any help appreciated.

Composer 2.5 starts to work in agent mode, then all of a sudden it thinks it's in ask mode and stops to work. When I prompt it to continue it tries to understand where it was in the task and only finishes what it just was working on, yet forgets about everything else in the pipeline.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I know this is stupid, and I know I will get downvoted like crazy. But I tried to find out googling, I asked chatgpt, I installed Radarr on my NAS, heck I even imported my movie collection.

But I still do NOT understand what Radarr is and why I should use it.

The reason I installed it is because of Trailarr that needs Radarr pre-installed... so it seems to download extras and metadata?

I'm sure Radarr is a great piece of software as many people are using it. I just haven't understood what it's for.

What pocket are you in?

I'm coming from Plex (free version) where everything was pretty straight forward and 'just working'. But I was missing some features like trailers or being able to watch outside of my local network or simply being able to watch my movies when Internet was gone.

From a featue perspective, I do like Jellyfin a lot, but some things are driving me insane. Like for example that my AndroidTV app is opening the Youtube app when watching a trailer and getting back to the movie page is a nightmare.

So I was looking into ways on how to automatically download trailers and renaming them so Jellyfin could read them as -trailer files.

Note: I'm using Jellyfin on my Synology NAS.

With a quick search, I came across Trailerfin and Trailarr, but they are both either difficult to install, and or require other apps I have no idea about like rada** and sona** which I do not want (and don't understand what they do).

I tried to install both (trailerfin and trailarr), but gave up halfway through. I'm kinda frustrated and I know, maybe it's just best to go back to Plex and pay the lifetime price.

Before I do so though, could anyone help me to solve this and point me to an easy to follow tutorial on how to install one of the popular apps for trailers? Or is there another way maybe a plugin I could run directly in jellyfin?
