I have always had really bad self esteem issues. It’s mostly just me tearing myself down but today was something out of my nightmares.

For context, I am a med student. A new nurse started her job today and introduced herself to us & kept asking us questions. We all wear masks during surgeries and it is kind of comforting for my body dysmorphia to cover up like that. She kept asking to see my face?? 😭

I refused and then, she called me full of myself and said I act as if I’m prettier than my friend (points to my friend next to me), she is so much prettier than you, okay, you are so ugly, you are ugly, ugly, ugly. I was just stuck there staring at her, honestly I wanted to cry. Then, my friend started pulling me away and the nurse was like haha, joking, haha.

Holy shit, it still doesn't feel real like how was that a real interaction? I feel so bad. I don't know what that was. It felt just like what I tell myself in the mirror except now someone actually said it
