I had a recent offer in Arkansas for a new grad job. It is 147k/year with benefits and a good 401k offer. The schedule is 4 ten hour shifts in a nonprofit community mental health setting. Out of the 40 hours, 15 of those are admin time hours (6 of which is on call from home and the rest spread out throughout the week) and 25 is expected to be patient hours. On the non call day, you are expected to see 24 patients but Intakes count as 2. She mentioned in the interview that is 15 minute follow ups and 30 minute intakes, but they also said you can schedule your day how you’d like. As a new grad they give you a month of following a provider and then start you off with one hour intakes and such. No shows are expected to be admin time but they want a no show rate of less than 17%.

My second offer is a private practice with a 30/70 split (yes, I would be getting the 30%) but with this you also get a 30% cut of all Spravato and TMS appointments you have going during the day while doing your intakes/follow ups. They pay my physician fee, building fees, credentialing, etc (however there is a contract that I have to pay back credentialing fees if I leave within a year). It’s a pretty busy practice and good flow of patients, but obviously with no shows you don’t get paid.

Confused on what to do as a new grad. Any help would be appreciated!

I recently received a salary offer for a community mental health Psychiatric NP position in Arkansas paying $150,000 per year. The schedule consists of four 10-hour days. The clinical productivity model is based on 15-minute follow-ups and 30-minute intakes. To start, there is a one-month orientation shadowing another NP. Following that, I would begin with 60-minute intakes/30-minute follow ups, eventually working down to 30/15 minutes. There are also a couple of hours of administrative time built into the weekly schedule. Is this a good offer?
