would it be bad idea to transfer to tech?

Going into my second year this fall as mechanical engineering. I have a pathway to tech for spring 2027 which is basically guaranteed acceptance to transfer. Not only would i be transferring mid way through a year but also half way through my undergrad degree.

I’m in an engineering club where I’m getting experience with the full process of designing and manufacturing parts. The leads are also giving me more responsibility and opportunities next year where I will be learning/doing more about the what goes on in the background of the team. I also have some interviews for research for fall too.

I don’t care too much about the city vs suburban, party scene, etc. arguments

Just want some thoughts about this. I feel like if I transfer mid way through, I will basically have to restart from zero because I have things going on for me here at uga.
