Annoyed that they keep closing the cafeteria for events instead of using other places

Hey guys I'm back at it again with another rant. And before you act all snarky and be like "oh well youre paying for this stfu and suck it up" IDGAF. I'm just soooo pissed because there's already like 0 places to sit on campus during the day time, like yeah it gets better during the evenings but liiiike... that's already after I've been here for 6+ hours and not to mention that other people have JOBS and other responsiblities!!!! Sometimes coming to campus when its not crowded is not an option! The cafeteria is like the most accessible place to just hang out and chill with how crowded the library gets, and like okaay they added those useless ass benches to the sky bridge but those tables are tiny, slanted and uncomfortable asf like. It's not accessible! Like if you're handicapped, or even just physically bigger! There are soo many spaces to hold conferences or whatever, like on the 8th floor in the west building WHICH is basically the same size as the cafeteria anyway!. Like it's frustrating! ALSO, what the fuck has been going on with the escalators? Like I'm sorry it's not gonna save the environment if they power it down for like an hour. Also, that situation with the 5th floor escalator where they just reversed it?? IDK. its whack. It's finals week and I'm tweaking out over everything. Good luck you guys. Peace and love. Unless you walk like -10mph in the middle of the hallway in that case go fuck urself

I'm sorry. This is probably already so, so, SO played out because every week there's a new post about how the student population here is fucking stupid. But you're getting another one. My friend has literally lost hair since she transferred here. To cope I tell myself that every day I spend here is another day closer to me getting out of here. Don't get me wrong, I value the education I received here and I respect and appreciate the professors here. HOWEVER. 1. The infrastructure is crumbling apart. I think we all remember when the pipes burst this winter, and just the general state of every single damn building here. 2. No one here knows how to walk, or even INTERACT with people. Listen, I get it- Covid stunted a lot of people's mental and social development. It's been 6 years. Get over it and learn how to behave. Don't get me started on the people that sit at the library computers and use THEIR OWN devices and block others from using it, and then act like you're the weird one for asking them to move. I haven't had this issue in my major-oriented classes but nearly all of my gened classes have been infested by people who just spend the entire class TALKING and TALKING and taaaaalking. Also, the people who stand on both sides of the escalator; whatever conversation you're having with your friend I promise you you can do it on the same side not blocking the flow of traffic. Someone already posted it but the library situation is atrocious. I can't even look at books or study quietly cause everyone is yapping 3. You have to fight so hard for just basic resources and guidance. Degreeworks has always been more useful and respectful to me than any other human being working here on the administrative side of things.

TLDR: If you're thinking of applying here, don't. There's plenty of other CUNYs to go to, and as nice as the education here is, it's not worth the long ass commute, dealing with the people and the asbestos/whatever chemical-ridden air.
