I have a life-altering physical disability but often appear "able-bodied" - AMA
hi. I'm Hanna. I'm 16 from Scotland I want to raise awareness of what life is like with a physical disability that often goes unseen. I was born over 3 months early and have lived with mild right-sided hemiplegia, a form of cerebral palsy from birth due to a severe brain bleed. ihave coordination issues on the right side of my body. I t is a bit like living with the affects of a stroke for your whole life - it affects me daily but I am fully ambulatory and I don't tell others about my condition. my twin also has the same condition, as well as others. to an extend i am "able-bodied" passing but it still affects me alot in many ways you would expect. I honestly find it really difficult and want to show people that you don't need to be in a wheelchair for something like this to affect your life
I love football (⚽) and have played since 9. i am almost always the only girl in disability spaces. one of my dreams would be to play for my country in cerebral palsy football Internationally, but its unlikely as there no woman's team
i am very academic and also enjoy videogames. I think alot about disabled people and have been surrounded by them my whole life, but often felt out of place as I don't always "feel" disabled.
ask me anything - my life, my thoughts, Scotland, sport. I really just want to raise awareness on situations like mine. :)
