Splitting credit card tips between bartenders on the same shift
Our well established restaurant was recently sold to a new owner. I am a bartender there and two nights a week we have two bartenders working the bar. The new owners have installed Toast, which we're happy with, except that we cannot figure out a simple way to split the evening's credit card tips between the two of us. Under the previous owner credit card tips were paid out in cash the next day. The current owner (reasonably so)does not want to continue that policy, so all credit card tips are paid out with the next week's payroll. We alternate ringing orders every other week. That means we're paying each other via Venmo each week, and whoever did the transactions that week absorbs the tax hit. It's messy. I've seen that there is a paid add-on to Toast ($79/month) called Tips Manager that addresses tip disbursement, but is there a manual adjustment that can be made each night that doesn't require this add-on? Thanks for any help with this!
