cities worth visiting nearby Bergen

Edit 1: I was thinking about *places* to which I could get in less than, let’s say, 2-3 hours. With many tourist attractions beside appreciating the nature.

Edit 2: I used the wrong word here. I’m looking for advice on just generally *places* where I could go. Not just cities. The criterium is not the size of the place but the amount of tourist attractions

So, I had a trip planned on May 6th (wednesday) to May 10th (sunday) but today I found out that my flight to Bergen got changed and it’ll be on the 4th (monday).

I had already booked an apartment, 6th-10th May, and now I’m on the fence. The airport at which i’ll land is Bergen-Flesland, my spot is obviously in Bergen. I’ve decided that now there is an opportunity to maybe book another apartment/hotel for those two nights in some other place instead of limiting myself to Bergen and smaller, neighbouring towns.

My question is now, to folks who either live in Bergen or have experience visiting that area, where I could stay for those two nights and have some stuff to do. Don’t get me wrong guys, Norway is a true gem and finally getting to visit your country is a dream come true (🥹🥹) but I’d also like to be able to something else beside just appreciating the landscape.

My first thought was to travel by train but from what I’ve found the closest train station is… in the Bergen city centre. So now I’m wondering if there is possibly some other solution where I could go straight from the airport to some other place? Any buses? I don’t wanna use a taxi.

I’ll greatly appreciate all of the advice and I’d also love it if you guys could provide some information about what’s worth sightseeing in those towns!💚
