Smashing Pumpkins - GIsh - Very first-est OG Caroline 1991

I got this copy of Gish a few years back, directly from Raymond Coffer. He was the band's manager at the time and is the first person listed in the record's "special thanks" notes. It was open but unplayed, brand-new mint inside and out. Until I got my hands on it! I never hesitate to spin it, man, that's what they're for.

So that's why I joked it's first-est. Gotta figure this was one of the first 5 or 6 they ever unpacked, maybe? Like does the provenance make you think this was an early delivery to the band, so this is actually a pre-release edition then...I'm just goofing off.

I'm both old enough now and cool enough back then that I actually heard Gish before Siamese Dream, lol. This *really* cool girl Kara had it on her Walkman and we listened together in wood shop class, then she taped it for me.

I don't really care what it is or what it's worth: it's my copy of Gish and it's got a cool backstory and that's it. Spin your records, folks!

Need an electric wheelchair, have no experience. Personalized recs?

I've been disabled for almost 9 years, a few ups but mostly downs, and I'm finally accepting that an electric wheelchair will really enhance my life, get me out more, etc. But I don't know where to start. I've had a crappy non-electric Drive chair for about 4-5 years, but it's junk and falling apart and due to disabilities I can't wheel myself around manually. Can I get some community help?

Here's what you need to know:

- I'm 6' and 275 pounds, so I need a strong chair, but am not obese (waist on my Levi's is 38), so I don't need a wider or XL option.

- I plan on using this for long days (museums, tourism) so, big/better/more batteries are welcome

- I live in downtown SF, so there are hills. I won't try any of the extreme ones, but I live on a medium one, so if it can handle my weight and the hills I'm stoked. I do see some electric chairs climbing my hill, with varying degrees of capability. And I'm heavy. So I'm worried I might be out of luck with most hills.

- Money is...not really a problem, but nobody here is rich, so, something the common person could afford would be ideal!

Thanks everyone! I'm lost looking around, having a hard time telling junk from quality, and don't wanna make a bad decision. Love to my fellow chaired people!

So I'm spinning a record and decide to get some breakfast. Found a croissant in the kitchen - cool. I bring it to where I sit, about 10-12 feet from my deck, and eat my croissant.

Ten minutes later I get up to change the record and...there's a giant flake of croissant, like a half-inch on both sides, just sitting on the deck about a half inch from the platter.

What the effing eff.

How can I beat dust when I can't even beat...bread?? Lol. I feel as if the gods of vinyl have frowned upon me today.

I've got shelf space for about 1300 records. Unfortunately I have about 1600.

We live in a 1BR apartment and my wife, who is so gracious and accommodating re: this passion of mine, has decided we have enough shelving in the house, so, no more IKEA cubes for me. I don't blame her.

Anything good for storage that isn't another shelf, that's appropriate for an adult living space, is hopefully pretty cheap, and won't fall apart with regular use?

I have some folding record storage box things I use for hauling my for-sale stuff to record fairs, I could use one or two for overflow, but then I have a big black box to try to find a place for, and I don't know how they hold up over time. Not optimal.

Any cool ideas I've missed?
