Rosacea worse after doxy?/Suggested isotretinoin

Hello! I have type 2 rosacea with a very short dermatologist history. I was diagnosed like less than a year ago and was first put on 20% azelaic acid that I still use. it did improve my skin, helped with the acne and the redness. After some months I got given doxycycline (iirc 100mg once a day) for 6 weeks. During that time I had absolute 0 break outs, which felt good. I've now been off it for 3 weeks and my skin is starting to look it's absolute worst. I look redder and I'm so very itchy from the pimples... it's hell. It's pretty much back to square 1 before I first started with azelaic acid. so I'm hoping with time it could start looking better again? :( Anyone else had this issue?

During the follow up with the derm she suggested I use isotretinoin and reading the information sheet she gave me, I'm feeling kind of hesitant. To be honest I don't like getting blood tests and this sounds like a very serious medication.

She gave me until Wednesday to think about it. I don't know what will happen if I say no. I'm not sure what other options there are. I hate this shit so much. Has anyone here been on isotretinoin? Did it help? :( Need some reassuring words, I am so very scared of needles.
