anyone else dealt with this subframe recall?

this is my pride and joy - my 2013 mazda 6 - she's got about 110k miles on her and i've kept up with all the necessary maintenance.

recently i went to get my tie rods replaced and was told the subframe under the engine is rusted out and has a pretty nasty crack in it. not safe to drive uggg. but i did some digging and there was a recall for this model - something about the subframe not having a sufficient paint coating and causing the part to rust out and crack.

i'm the second owner of the car, and according to mazda they replaced the part in 2019. i just think it's a little crazy that the damage is this bad after 7 years and less than 40k miles driven on it in that time. i'm getting multiple opinions but just wanted to see if anyone on here has dealt with similar issues.
