Jobs out here offering $13-14/hr

I have employment but still recieve emails from Indeed and some of these job postings are offering positions for $13/hour. Some even less! How do employers feel good about themselves paying wages this low?

Using the living wage calculator from MIT shows that a living wage for a single adult working full time with no dependents in Eau Claire is $22.23/hour. How many of y'all are making that in Eau Claire? Less? More?

Staff walked out today (including me) need moral support

so myself and the other cooks and dish guys have been working here, the boss hired a new chef who is out of her depth. she has continuously insulted us and questioned our work ethic as she smokes cigarettes and plays on her phone.

we raised concerned multiple times and it was dismissed, so the whole back of the house came together last night and we had some beers and all agreed to not come to work today, nor tomorrow.

its the right thing to do but it’s stressful so I’m asking for moral support lol

EDIT: to be clear the boss is very good, he’s just aloof. the fact is that if he wasn’t such a good boss its what’s keeping us all from quitting outright. we don’t want to screw him we want more respect.

EDIT 2: restaurant is closed today, we will be having a staff meeting this evening

Found a rather unsavoury flag flying in Walker’s Point yesterday…

For what possible reason could this be flying in front of a business?

The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it.

Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win.

Workingmen of all countries unite!
