Julia vs. The Writers

What is up with Julia in the last two seasons of the show? Did the actress piss the show runners off? Julia spent three seasons being one of, if not the most developed and nuanced character in the ensemble with a truly captivating story of turning your trauma into power (literally) and then after the show decided to take away her God status for plot service *EYE ROLL* she just kind of dropped off...or "regressed" if you will. Who made this decision? I am still curious all these years later.

I'm rewatching for the first time since it aired and by God (no pun intended), I cannot believe how many times Julia is close to killing Reynard and another character ruins it. It almost classifies as a recurring gag. Like hello, can't a girl just kill her assaulter in peace?
