imo you must resort to more sinister means and i’m not advocating for violence or bizarre jan 6th type behaviour. i think people must start doing cyber attacks (eg you don’t like BP or Amazon- hack their system and take their websites down) or sit ins (obviously only works if LARGE numbers of people refuse to leave until their goals have been achieved). also i think protesting causes massive inconvenience to the public (like when extinction rebellion stop traffic for hours or weekly protests stop public transport from running) the general public haven’t done anything wrong and shouldn’t be inconvenienced. inconvenience the politicians and the policy makers (although unfortunately i don’t think any amount of protesting will stop trump). i don’t expect this post to be taken well.
i always see people doing this and wonder how they can possibly focus and concentrate with people talking around them (i wish i could and i tried many times but i always feel i understand and appreciate text more when i read in pure silence) though sometimes reading in my apartment gets a bit drab. i’m also the type of person to tell people to stop talking in a library/stop watching tiktoks on the train so i suppose that contributes to it.
looking for novels i can get lost and absorbed in. preferably by women as tend only to read books by women
