Mitsu Montero/Pajero 2002 shuts off while offroading
Hi together
For the past few weeks, I've been having a problem with my 2002 Montero: it shuts off on off-road tracks or even on regular unpaved roads. Afterwards, the A/T and battery lights come on red. I can restart the Montero normally and continue driving. However, after 5-20 minutes, it shuts off again. When starting after a "shutoff", you can accelerate, nothing happens for 2-5 seconds, but then there's a real jolt. I've already taken it to a mechanic. An error code related to the airflow sensor appeared, along with two or three error codes related to the transmission. These codes were cleared. I then started the car, drove around for about 10 minutes, had it scanned again, and the error codes were gone. A day later, I was driving off-road again, and the car shut off once more. The problem is still here.
Unfortunately, I don't know what to do. The mechanic said, it could be many things...
Image which I took suddenly after the "shut off": https://postimg.cc/DWSpQ0xw You can see the red symbols and also that the 4x2 and D signs/lights are green. So I don't know if it is a completely "shut off".
Need big help🙏
