Over about 8 weeks one opal earring turning clear and completely lost its fire

Why did it happen to one, and not the other? I wore them the same way.

I understand the one has absorbed something, and it’s likely Ethiopian opal based on my last post. I have been recommended to reset both stones with Australian opals, is that the right advice?

Alison on Perfect Match (and her match!)

Night and day from her appearance and villain edit on building the band. She was still competitive, but she was also such a lovergirl faithfully committed to the man who reminded her most of her first crush in childhood. They're supposedly still seeing where it goes with their relationship, at their own pace now that cameras aren't on them and they're back home.

One thing I thought was so funny, in the first episode when a potential match asked her what she is looking for she launches into a very law-of-attraction and mindfulness type answer and the edit has her audio fade to b-track while his voice-over says, she is saying a lot but she looks good and I want her to think I'm listening “yeah uh huh” 😅 she was kinda the butt of that joke, but she and that guy didn't last a second once her “perfect match” entered the house.

Anybody else watch? And what were your thoughts? Anybody aware of her match and who he is?

Should I ask for a spirit rock?

Middle school art teacher in central NC here.

I think if I ask for a spirit rock, we will get one. The only thing stopping me so far is that maintaining a well-painted spirit rock is not currently part of my running to do list and routines at school and I’m not certain I want to add it to my plate.

Help me decide?

Tell me: does your school have a spirit rock? Who paints it? How long do the paintings last? Has it ever been vandalized by rivals? Is that less likely at middle school? Can painting it be delegated to kids? Where should we place it if we do it?

Any and all spirit rock experience is welcome! Thank you for your insights

And the award for most unexpected but effective pick up line goes to, Noelle!

What else do you expect from a cute short telekinetic maneater?

I know her character catches a lot of flack for being supernatural and not fitting in with the rest of their world, but as a Carl fan I was eating that up! I wanted seconds and thirds of her telekinetic abilities.

What did you think of Noelle Sussman?

Ginger’s revenge?

I can’t decide whether or not I agree with Ginger’s decision to have the popular group tell Dodie herself that her mom latching on to their group was unwanted. I know Ginger felt Dodie had to hear it for herself, but I just think it could have gone so wrong.
First and foremost, Dodie actually can’t control what her mom is doing, and won’t be able to help. Their issue isn’t with Dodie, so all this was likely to do was mortify Dodie. Luckily, Dodie randomly kept herself completely composed in the most out-of-character ending of all time. Which leads me to wonder- did Ginger expect/want to upset Dodie on some level as pay back for all the mistreatment Dodie had done to her up until this point? Or do you think Ginger was fully wholesome here when she brought the entire popular group over to confront Dodie at her house?

Miranda Appreciation Post!

In my canon, Courtney first chose Miranda to befriend in an attempt to understand middle class life.

Unfortunately, Miranda’s family is decidedly uncool about everything. So when Courtney meets Ginger and ultimately meets Lois who is a warm and down to earth mother, she feels comfortable enough to lean in and let out her curiosity for their lifestyle.

Miranda reminds me so much of myself as a teen! I had very strict often unreasonable parents who would not let me follow my own interest, and only wanted me to be what they wanted me to be. And I know a lot of youth relate to that, which is why I’m really glad Miranda is here. Even if she is a tad, well, trifling.

Also, is it just me or does anybody else see how Miranda’s character and dynamic with her dad mirror Dodie’s character and dynamic with her mom?!

Best Middle School Theatre?

Hey there! The family I work with is unhappy with the middle school in their home district. They have used magnet schools in the past, and aren’t opposed to that. They also do have the funds for paying for school if needed, but would rather not enroll in Thales if avoidable.

What middle school in the area has the best school theatre program? What middle schools are best for kids who love STEAM and arts?

Diamonds are expensive (impressive, impressive)

They are sparkly but expensive.

Sparkly and impressive. (Impressive)

The song by Lois and Dr. Dave in the credits at the end of the About Face episode had me laughing so hard it hurt!

Even the best fall down sometimes.

Is it just me, or is Mipsy actually the best villain in ATBG?

Also! Since someone is gonna ask…

This is from the episode where Jojo starts working as a teacher and starts acting like a teen herself. She latches on to the popular group, and they go to the Bishop house to tell Dodie her mom is the worst. While trying to get Dodie to open her bedroom window, the pebbles It’s Courtney! is throwing keep rebounding back down and injuring Mipsy.

The way Carl pulls out his top hat and oversized tuxedo every time he wants to impress an older woman…

I'm not crying. I just have something in my eye 🥲

As a middle school teacher, their relationship speaks to me on a visceral level.

Hi! I want some opinions to help me think about this.

I am about to be a 5th year teacher. In year 3 I completed my EdTPA for my alternative licensure path (ERM) in North Carolina.

I was so relieved tnbe done, and when I got my scores back I was so pleased to have a solid score rather than some “barely passing” type deal.

I needed a 38 and got a 53, yay!

But there's the thing- the test max score is like 75 and everyone I've talked to in teaching (not just art teacher, all topics) say they got scores in the 40s.

Is my score a reflection of art being easier?

Or am I the most well written best test taker I've ever met? Please humble me and tell me your higher scores, too, please.

Anybody have insight on how to understand these scores and what it really reflects (writing skills? What else?) because I want to get my head on straight and not get all in my ego about this as I'm noticing I have the highest score of anybody I've talked to.
