Requirements for a Partner

Looking for someone is Sunni and is moderately practicing (pray, fast, etc.) or is at least trying to get to it. Intention is very important. I want to be aligned religiously with my partner. I also do not have a "past," so I'm looking for the same and that is a dealbreaker.

I'm also looking for someone who is already settled in the US and would be willing to live in the Northeast USA, as I prefer not to relocate out of that larger area (can consider for a short duration though based on circumstance). Ideally, someone who has lived here for a bit and knows and understands the American culture here. Also someone who rejects the negative cultural norms in Pakistani culture, but celebrates the good. Not interested in someone who is embarrassed/detached from Pakistani culture altogether.

For my family, logistically, it's important that the guy comes from a decent, educated family and is settled in a good profession. Big preference for someone who's family background is from Lahore, or nearby (but not necessary).

Deal Breakers

Should meet these:

  • Someone practicing and staying away from major haram
  • Does not have a "past" as I don't have one either
  • Someone who is already living/settled in the US/Canada and willing to live in the Northeast US
  • Willing to live in a Nuclear setup
  • Has at least a Bachelors
  • Age: up to 34

Preferred Family Setup: Nuclear

Do You Want Children?: Yes, Insha Allah

Timeframe for Marriage:

I would like to have conversations with the person to make sure we are right for each other and address all the important questions about values, lifestyle, etc. But I don't believe in talking for months and months. I expect it will take 1-3 months to establish if we are right for each other (this includes family involvement), and after that would like to get married within the year.
