Negative swabs for thrush and bv so what could the problem be?

I had bv twice in the space of 6 weeks. Last cycle as well as antibiotics I used NAC to break the biofilm and been using daily oral probiotics. I got swabbed last week at the GP and results were negative for thrush and bv yet I still have pain, soreness, discomfort and odd diacharge (varies between white and clumsy but not tons like with thrush, and thin and watery like bv but no smell).

What do I do next? I know people will say get a microbiome test but I really cant afford one right now. Does anyone live in the UK and have they had any success in requesting a PCR vaginal swab or being referred to gynecology?

If you had CV, was it caused by too many vaginal probiotics? Or did you take oral probiotics that led to it?

Ive never taken vaginal probiotics. I take 1x optibac for women intimate flora, and 1x seluni every day orally. Also in the last month I took relactagel (lactic acid) vaginally for 5 out of 30 days.

My symptoms (soreness, irritation, watery and white discharge) fit the description of cv.

I am now really scared I've caused CV. I haven't taken a microbiome test cos I'm in the uk and I'm scared of spending all this money only for a GP to tell me they aren't interested in my result.

After having been tested at the clinic and results showing bv (yes, I know its not as accurate as microbiome etc), i took clindamycin for 7 days and I've been using probiotics and NAC every day for 3 weeks.

Since then I still have soreness/prickly feeling on outer labia. Today i also experienced more discharge BUT it was thin milky white in texture and odourless, not grey like bv or thick like cottage cheese (so not like yeast). It almost seems normal diacharge wise yet I still have pain/discomfort? What could it be?

Advice about lactoferrin please

- I read that apolactoferrin is preferred. Anyone got any suggestions of a UK brand please?

- can I take it alongside NAC on an empty stomach in the morning or should I spread out NAC and lactoferrin?

- should I take lactoferrin every day or just for a short time?

Ive had antibiotics twice to treat bv but hasnt worked so i think I need to test my microbiome.

Can you please give me your honest experiences of using Juno in the UK?

- how easy was it to get support once you got your results about what to try next?

- how easy was it to convince uk GPs to prescribe what you needed?

Worried about paying £££ but then not being able to get what I need 😭

I used clindamycin cream from 17-24 april to treat BV that the sexual health clinic diagnosed. Also been taking NAC on empty stomach and oral probiotics every day (haven't had chance to get vaginal ones yet but will for next month).

My period started 26 april. I tried to use a menstrual cup instead of usual pads but it was so uncomfortable which I think is cos it was too firm, plus it wasn't catching all the blood anyway, as blood was also on my period underwear. So i abandoned the cup and the period underwear and just used sanitary towels but I've been using bamboo pads which are supposedly better?

Anyway today all day I've felt this prickly feeling all over my outer labia, I'm hoping its just reaction to the blood. Anyone else had this?

People are going to tell me to do a micriobiome test - frankly I'm super reluctant to do one as I'm in the UK and judging by people's experiences, unless I have the funds to go private (i dont) then there's literally no point doing the microbiome as NHS just ignores the results 🙄

So here i am stuck between a rock and a hard place and hating the fact that my sex life with my partner has just died 😭

Has anyone done this routine before?

- Boric Acid - 7 days

- Clindamycin - 7 days

- Relactagel - 7 days

- Vaginal Probiotic - 5 days

I want to try it but its all vaginal insertion, what happens when you get your period? Surely you cant do any of those things while on your period?
