Canada- are Kia Carnivals in short supply?
So for context, my best friend is trying to find a minivan and both he and his wife prefer the 2026 Kia Carnival due to a combination of looks and tech. I have to say it is a compelling package. But right now, most dealers in the Greater Toronto Area are quoting lead times of 6-8 months, and those that do have Carnivals on the lot are listing them above MSRP (or it turns out they have a bunch of extra fees and "services" that end up effectively being a premium over MSRP). Used models are not selling at a discount.
Meanwhile, back in 2023 another one of my friends bought a Carnival off the lot, available immediately, for MSRP. It seems there are no scarcity issues in the US. Do any Kia sales people know why this model is suddenly so difficult to come by in Canada, when there were no supply issues 3 years ago and no supply issues south of the border?
