Just watched this last week. Yes it's a little cheesy at times but definitely worth watching for the performance of Nicholson, Pfeiffer, and Spader. The story actually emphasized more on how Nicholson's character developed as a human being after the "initiation" rather than his endeavors as a night creature, which made it compelling to watch compared to other films of the same genre.
