Would you rather lose your right arm, your hearing, or all non-work screen time permanently?
Body:
You must choose one of these three permanent conditions. There is no money awarded—this is a straight trade-off.
Option 1: You lose your right arm
Amputated cleanly at the shoulder. If you are left-handed, you lose your left arm instead (you lose your dominant arm).
Option 2: You lose your hearing
Complete, irreversible deafness. Hearing aids and cochlear implants will not work.
Option 3: You lose all non-work screen time
Any screen you look at for recreational or personal use will instantly blur.
- The Work Rule: You can only see a screen if it is directly connected to your employment (e.g., typing a spreadsheet for your boss, coding, logging into a work terminal). The second you open a non-work tab, check a personal site, or clock out for the day, the screen blurs.
- The Communication Rule: This includes text messages, WhatsApp, and FaceTime. If your spouse or kid texts you, the screen is a blur. You can only communicate via voice calls or face-to-face.
- The Daily Life Rule: Banned from Kindles, GPS navigation screens, digital dashboards in cars, TV, gaming, and restaurant QR codes. If you want to buy a ticket, find a route, or check a menu, you have to do it via voice, paper, or have someone else do it for you.
Which one are you choosing and why?
