I try and visit Pigtail every day. She is one of the sweetest and friendliest squirrels I’ve ever met. She lets me pet her and she’ll sidle up to me for snacks and sometimes climb into my lap.
She lives in a very touristy area in front of a famous building and the guards outside the building told me she actually lives *inside* the building. At first I wasn’t sure what they meant but after spending more time there I think I’ve figured it out.
The guards said they all know her and they’re nice to her and feed her.
In an area where there was tragedy followed by many years of pain and sadness, she is a bright light. To me she represents healing and resilience.
I love her.
