cafe downtown

Im looking for advice here. work environment here is awful. i don't know how businesses usually operate when they're fresh like this, but i feel like this is a little insane.

I feel like the place wasn't properly prepared to operate. It's an easy job made difficult by horrible management.

management is an absolute mess. i've had a really bad experience working here.

Once i worked a 12 hour shift without receiving any breaks. this is not the first time i worked a long shift without any breaks. when i mentioned this to my manager, he said that we're allowed 30 minutes of break every 8 hours.

he's never mentioned this before at all. not to mention we asked our manager many times if we could get chairs for the back in which he flat out refused to let us sit down. i genuinely get talked down to whenever i have any clarifying questions or any concerns. this job is bringing out a very bitter side of me that i've never seen before. this is my first job so idk if this is just how working in food places goes.

manager doesn't let us leave when our shift ends, he flat out refuses to clock us out (the system doesn't work properly, so we cant clock ourselves out)

I don't really know where to reach out or who to talk to address any of these issues. I've searched for HR information but I'm really confused on how to report all of this and where to even start. also, if anyone else has more experience, lmk how abnormal this actually is compared to other food/cafe places.
