I've had a Ruger 77/22 VBZ with a Volquartsen trigger since the late 90s. I've only shot it a maybe a dozen times and it just never clicked with me. It feels like a full size rifle and the 3 position safety is the best, but it's not terribly accurate and it's really heavy.

I see that they are worth quite a bit of money. I want to try NRL22, and want to get a Tikka T1x. I'm not hard up for money, but I'm considering selling the Ruger to help fund it and make room in the safe. Anyone think I'll regret selling it? I look at it and think, that's a really nice rifle, but I just don't enjoy shooting it.

If every gun owner in CO reported a civil rights violation...

The DOJ Second Amendment Section allows you to report 2A civil rights violations. They just filed a lawsuit against Denver City/County for it's weapons ban. Imagine if every Colorado Gun owner clicked that link and submitted a civil rights violation. Here's some of your rights you can ask them to advocate for:

  • Magazine capacity limits (15-round cap) This is my favorite issue. Colorado’s limit could be argued to restrict arms and accessories that are in common use nationwide for lawful purposes (self-defense, training, competition).
  • Additional state or local taxes beyond normal sales tax may be framed as a financial barrier to exercising a constitutional right—especially if structured to discourage ownership rather than raise general revenue.
  • Local preemption conflicts (patchwork regulations). Municipal rules (e.g., in Denver or Boulder) that go beyond or conflict with state law could create inconsistent access to lawful ownership depending on location.
  • Delays or barriers in background check / purchase processes. Extended waiting periods, administrative delays, or limited processing capacity that effectively prevent timely acquisition of firearms.
  • Carry restrictions that eliminate meaningful self-defense options. Broad “sensitive place” designations or permitting hurdles that make lawful concealed or open carry impractical in most public spaces.

Or, pick your own issue. There's really no reason not to report Colorado's civil rights violations. Click the link and enjoy!
