Need opinions please ?

Applying for UK Skilled Worker Visa from India (Renewables/Sustainability) after previous UK Master’s?

With the Skilled Worker Visa salary threshold now at £41,700, how realistic is it to find sponsorship for junior-to-mid level engineering roles when applying from overseas (India)?

I am aware that as a recent UK graduate, I may qualify for the "New Entrant" rate (now £33,400), but I’m unsure if recruiters are hesitant to sponsor from abroad given these high bars and the current market sentiment.

Has anyone successfully secured sponsorship in the Green Energy/Renewables sector from outside the UK recently? Any tips on specific "sponsor-friendly" firms or how to approach the salary negotiation given these thresholds would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

Looking for some guidance in work visa ?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some realistic advice based on recent experiences.

I previously lived and worked in the UK, but I am currently based in India and applying for roles in renewable energy, sustainability, environmental / energy consulting and related fields in Ireland.

I wanted to ask:
• Has anyone here successfully secured an Irish work permit (Critical Skills or General Employment Permit) while applying from outside Ireland?
• With the recent cost-of-living pressures and tighter hiring, are Irish employers still open to sponsoring non-EU candidates?
• Are there particular roles, sectors, or types of companies (renewables, energy, ESG, consulting, engineering, utilities, etc.) that are more open to sponsorship?
• Any practical tips on approaching employers or recruiters from abroad?

I understand it’s competitive, but I’d really appreciate hearing recent experiences, whether successful or not.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
