Thoughts on lamp idea?

I have an original Crouse-Hinds explosion proof cage light. Original stamped glass too. I’m replacing the ceramic socket today as the original cracked. What do you think of I drilled a hole in this old car wooden wheel chock and wired a chord with a switch to make a lamp. The light has some real value it seems. Would it be a cool industrial piece or is the wood too old where it would waste the light? I’m open to ideas or let me know if you think it looks cool.

Cars honking when I don’t turn on red?

Twice now I have had cars behind me honk at this same intersection leaving the Target at South Hills Village. Far right lane, right turn signal on. Yes, it looks clear to turn but the sign says “No Turn on Red”. Is there an unspoken rule I am not aware of where I should be turning? I understand honking if I’m slow playing a legal turn but the law is the law.

▲ 3 r/sales+1 crossposts

10 years in the car biz most recently at a German luxury dealer where I was making $120k/yr. We moved across the country for my wife’s job and I have not worked in almost a year and have been staying home with kids. I’ve had a fun year but it’s time to get back to work. What I am NOT is what I consider to be a true salesman through and through. Cold calls all day, knocking on doors or grinding 60 hours per week to meet an arbitrary goal. I respect those that do it, but that’s not me. I’m looking to get out of car sales and pivot into another sales role that has a semi flexible schedule, leads provided and honestly, while I would love to make a ton of money, I’m ok making less. It will supplement my wife’s income and I want to have a good work life balance. My wife works remote and it’s so nice! My next job does not have to be strictly work from home but some work from home would be nice. I’m asking you all, what is an industry, company or role you think might fit my needs? I’m honest, can quickly build rapport, learn the ins and outs of a product and my customers all love me. I do not have a college degree and I have General Manager experience at fine dining restaurants too. I’m not lazy and I’m not looking for “easy money” just in case I’m coming off that way because of what I won’t do. Thanks in advance to anyone that has some advice.
