Hallo Zusammen, Im Jennifer from Level up German on Youtube, where I usually make Comprehensible Input in the way that I've used it to learn Spanish.
Since German is a little particular about grammar, I'm trying out something new and would like to discuss what you think. It's basically a mix between entertaining Input and Grammar, always focussing on a different topic. It obviously goes against the traditional CI Concept.
This one is just a short introduction into a longer Video that I'm still working on. It will be focussing on the 4 german cases and will therefore be an intermediate Video.
Let me know what you think, would this type of Input help you?
Would you prefer it for concepts like Past/Future tenses and so on?
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, Im a German teacher and one thing ive noticed is that a lot of my students do well in theory, grammar and vocabulary tests, but fail to really improve using the language naturally. I finally tried the comprehensible input method that everyone keeps talking about and it really made a difference, but only if the content was interesting to them and on an understandable level. So I had the idea of making videos based on popular cartoons but with a lot more natural expression, to help them ease into native content.

A friend told me this community is really friendly and gives great feedback, so I wanted to share this here 🙂

I made a few beginner German videos using only simple language and context — no translations.

Its so hard to get the level right. So I would like to know:

Can you understand what’s going on without subtitles?

Does the story make sense to you even if you havent seen the show?

Is anything confusing?

Also, let me know your level in german and if youve tried Comprehensible input before.

Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/9-nD4S5FeOE?is=DUFzWC3siqxOmxGu

Would love your honest feedback!

Hey everyone,

I recently started a new YouTube channel called Level Up German, focused entirely on comprehensible input for German learners.

The idea is to combine CI with content that’s actually fun to watch and I'm a big cartoon fan so I went for Spongebob and Avatar first and already recorded some Gaming content too. I’m trying to keep things very visual, slow, and simple, especially at the beginner level.

So far I’ve uploaded two videos: A super beginner video based on a SpongeBob episode (“Opposite Day”) and a beginner video about Uncle Iroh in Avatar

Since this is my first time recording CI Id be very happy about any feedback, good or bad. Especially on:

pacing (too slow / too fast?)

level (too easy / too hard?)

clarity of the input

This is the Super Beginner Spongebob one : https://youtu.be/D3lb5JbKbww?is=LsqLm-AZEK2xTALw

And this one is the Beginner Avatar:

I’m still very early, so any thoughts would help a lot.

Thanks 🙂
