How do I know what hardware version I'll be getting? Also would appreciate help understanding the Reolink guide to NVR hardware versions

I'm trying to figure out what NVR and cameras to get and am mostly set on the RLN8-410. I want to get 2 outdoor cameras but don't want to do any wiring/drilling to do PoE, so I'm settling for WiFi cameras. I came across the Comprehensive Guide to Reolink NVR Hardware Versions but it's not super clear for a noob like me.

So a few questions:

  1. How do I know what NVR hardware version I'll be getting?
  2. The mentioned feature #4 (Supports battery-powered continuous recording (for camera models that support this feature)) means that I should be able to record from a camera like the Argus Eco or Argus 3 Pro right?
  3. How much memory does a week's worth of video take up on a camera like the Argus Eco?

Have a bunch of cables like this coming out of my condo and building. Would appreciate help identifying what they are

I recently moved into a new place and noticed a bunch of these wires in a few spots outside of my unit and the other unit in my condo building. ChatGPT suggested they might be a low-voltage communication cable but was pretty uncertain. Sorry it's a low-quality picture, I thought it was better quality when I was looking at the picture after taking it.

Could I use the cable to potentially power a security camera? I'm trying to gauge what kind of security camera to install, and would maybe use one of these wires to power a camera

I recently moved into a place that has a DS-KH6320-WTE1 intercom system and a DS-KV6113-WPE1 camera setup already. I'm looking to have video recorded and saved, so am thinking of either getting a compatible NVR or just another camera like a Eufy to record and save video.

I'm new to home security and this stuff - would you recommend getting a compatible NVR?

How do I see if one is compatible with the products I already have? Do I even need to get a Hikvision NVR? What features should I look for or ignore in selecting an NVR?

If I decide to buy a Hikvision product, it seems like I have to go through a distributor (I'm in the US). Is there a way to find one that has a brick and mortar store in a specific city? I've gone through the 'Find a Distributor' page online and it hasn't been too helpful other than listing all the distributors.

I'm trying to gauge if a table I have is built correctly. Let's say I have data coming from multiple sources/applications for employees so the table I'm trying to evaluate is dim_employee. There is some precedence/hierarchy of how data should be updated from the different systems, and I have that sorted already.

The data is currently being loaded from all these sources into the same dim_employee table but as different records from each system. So an employee with EmployeeID of 12345 can have up to X number of records in the table, where X is the number of source systems. They're just differentiated by a field source_system that is populated with the name of the source system.

A few options that come to mind are:

  1. Have different tables for each system, like dim_employee_google, dim_employee_microsoft, and dim_employee_apple.
  2. Keep it as the same table but have additional fields for specific source systems, which are updated by the respective load process. So Load_google_process would update dim_employee.pay_info_google.

What should I consider to see if either of those options make sense? I'm already leaning towards keeping the table the same, but don't know the modeling theory well enough to put a grasp on it

I recently moved into a place that has a DS-KH6320-WTE1 with cameras and I've been trying to go through the manual and other files online to see if I can record + save videos on it. It seems to only save videos if the doorbell is rung, but I want to also record 24/7.

I tried inserting an SD card but it's not allowing me to format it and giving me a vague error message, so I can't tell if I'll be able to record. Any help/insight would be much appreciated!

I'm surprised at how expensive fractional plates are. They all seem to be > $70 for a set of just 5, 2.5, and 1.25 pound plates. Where can I get a set of just 5 and 2.5 pound rubber plates for under $50?
