Weird screen blackout + random burn - glitch?
I’m currently playing through the post-game of Pokémon Platinum and was battling trainers on Route 228 when something really strange happened.
I was in a battle against an Empoleon with no status conditions. I was using Gliscor and basically just spamming Toxic while trapped in Whirlpool, letting it slowly wear down while Empoleon attacked.
On one of the turns where I used Toxic, both screens suddenly went completely black. I thought my game froze or my cartridge got bumped or something. But after about a second, both screens came back on—and the Empoleon was suddenly burned.
I finished the battle, saved my game, and everything has been normal since.
I’ve been playing Pokémon for years and have never seen anything like this. Has anyone experienced this before or know what might have happened? This just a random glitch? Thanks!
