I live in my mother’s house and have a lock on my bedroom door. My older brother (20) came home from college and took my bedroom key. I didn’t give it to him, it was left in my door briefly and now it’s gone.

He knows I know he took it but is denying it and won’t return it. This isn’t the first time things have gone missing from my room, which is why I keep my door locked.

At this point I just want a permanent solution so my room is secure again. Also the door lock is an old mortice lock.

What’s the best way to handle this?
