I wish Lionheart was Fireheart/star's Starclan guide throughout the first books

spoilers for arc 1, and a little bit of bluestars prophecy.

okay going all the way back to the originals. I'm not saying what I'm saying is set in stone and the only thing that should be, this is just my thoughts and opinions, but I always think...

why couldn't lionheart be Fireheart/star's Starclan mentor?

sure, the guy didn't last very long, but neither did Spottedleaf.

I feel like even if it wasn't long, it was nice seeing him not believing Rusty of wanting to leave his kitty pet life to be one of a clan warrior at first. he was originally supposed to be Firepaw's mentor. I always see Lionheart as this gentle giant type character, almost like a loving father, even in his small run. I feel like Lionheart and Tigerclaw were almost like opposites, even if not kin. (Well, lionheart is the brother of goldenflower, tigerclaws mate, so maybe.) Lionheart was well, a lion, and Tigerclaw is like a....tiger. they reflected the original clans of wild cats. lionheart was sturdy but gentle and loyal, while Tigerclaw was more quick to violence and battle.

It would have been amazing to have Firepaw see his original mentor die, and be torn by that, not the nice-smelling Spottedleaf. don't get me wrong, I'm not a Spottedleaf hater. she's her own cat, and she's decent. But a cat who really hadn't done anything for our main character except heal some wounds just doesn't feel fair. sure, she gave the prophecy, but she didn't have to be the center.

there are some other connections I like to make .

Firepaw becomes Fireheart. like Lionheart. "heart" is a common warrior name, I know, but It would've been so nice if this name could've almost reflected the cat he lost. maybe Bluestar saw the Lionheart in him, and named him so, along with, of course, the fire that was in his heart to save the clans.

Back in the days of Pinestar's ruling, I remember him telling Lionpaw that he would've absolutely named him Lionheart, and to tell Sunstar.

Pinestar was leaving his leader life to be one of a kittypet, and Firepaw was leaving his kittypet life to be one of a warrior.

imagine if Lionheart thought that on his death bed when they found him dying. imagine him bringing that down to Firestar, even if he's not the leader. But as the deputy, it would be nice to see him say, "Firepaw, if I were to live to be a leader, just know I would've named you Fireheart..."

And Pinestar's warrior name was pineHEART, imagine if it was a cycle. (squirrelflight being called Squirrelheart lmao. )

maybe Starclan would've given Bluestar that idea as well. maybe it's stupid, but it's just something I think.

now, lastly, the prophecy in the darkest hour. the introduction to bloodclan, and the creation of Lionclan and Tigerclaw. the form of shadow clan and river clan, windclan and Thunderclan.

Thunder is shown throughout these books, and still to this day, to always be the "main character clan" they're usually loyal, they're inviting, and more kind and thoughtful than other clans. They more often then not lay things down to help other clans. in the first arc, windclan was driven out of their territory, and it was Fireheart and Graystripe who had brought them back to their home from Brokenstar/tail's ruling of chasing them out.

both these clans were paired for a reason. shadowclan has been showed time and time again, to be seen as the "bad" clan, the disloyal and more destructive one, even if more stereotype then truth, because we know Brokenstar is a big reason at the time.

riverclan, although not horrible, were clearly more hostile of Thunderclan.

Tigerstar ruled tigerclan, Firestar ruled Lionclan. I feel like Firestar throughout this story has to represent more of the lion, like how he looks in his reflection in the water, (and in the original cover of the darkest hour.)

He's almost like Lionheart's second life.

Tigerclan represents the ways of Tigerstar, vicious, power hungry.

Lionclan represents more of the ways of Firestar, loyal and justice.

I always felt as though, in a way, Lionheart was representing Lionclan, the way Tigerstar reflected the Tigerclan.

Tigerclaw was at first expecting to be deputy at first, before it was given to Lionheart. Tigerclaw and Lionheart I feel, are definitely representing something against each other, and I would REALLY love it that was stretched farther.

Tigerclaw, who uses his claws, and lionheart, uses his heart, is another way to look at it.

In the end, I really just always thought it would be better if Lionheart was Firestar's mentor through Starclan, even at his fast death. It reflects Firestar so much, and would've been at his side to show him to always do what is right for his clan, not what will only benefit himself, or drag others down.

Spottedleaf is cool, I get it, she's a medicine cat, she gives prophecies, but I don't think she did much. Spottedleaf could've given the prophecy, but didn't need to be as big of a point. She could've been another cat who was there to mentor Firestar in Starclan, but I wish that main role was given to Lionheart.

Anyway, that was my TED talk. Goodbye :3
