I'm making a mod that adds a racial ability that triggers an on-hit effect. Bretons absorb 5 points of magicka with every attack hit. I believe I have set this up in a logical way, but it's not working in game. The spell is on the character, but the attacks aren't absorbing magicka. Does anyone known if this is possible and basically the right setup or if there is a better/easier way to achieve this? Here's how I've structured it:
Race Record: in override, added an ability "Leech Magicka" alongside Breton racial powers.
Spell Record "Leech Magicka": set to Ability, constant, on self, and has the effect "Mag Absorb on Hit", area/duration/magnitude 0.
MGEF Record "Mag Absorb on Hit": Perk to add "Mag Absorber" (Archetype Value Modifier, none, because only perks have "on-hit" and this effect is just a container for the perk).
Perk Record "Mag Absorber": entry point Combat Hit Spell, on Target Actor, Add Spell "Absorb Mag".
Spell Record: "Absorb Mag": set to target actor, fire and forget, has the effect "Absorb Magicka", magnitude 5, area/duration 0.
MGEF Record "Absorb Magicka": Archetype Absorb, Actor Value Magicka, Target actor.
