low psych grade

I’m in my second year of university in Canada and hope to pursue a phd or psyd in clinical psychology. I will be doing an honours thesis, and will be working on multiple other research projects in the next two years. In my second year, I got a minimum A- (3.7) in all the psych courses I’ve taken. However, my first year grades were a mess. I have diagnosed obsessive-compulsive disorder and was dealing with a horrible episode during my first year. As a result I had poor grades. Most of my psych courses in first year were in the B to A- range. However, I took abnormal psych the spring after first year and got a C. It had nothing to do with a lack of interest in the subject, I was just struggling a lot.

I’m sure that my cumulative gpa will be above 3.5 and am doing a lot better now, however I’m worried that my first year (especially the C) will ruin my chances of ever getting in.

TLDR: Got a few Bs and a C in abnormal psych in my first year but doing a lot better now. Can I still get into clinical psych grad programs in Canada or the US?

clinical psych - canada

i’m a canadian undergrad student hoping to apply to clinical psych programs once I graduate. I know most schools in Canada look at your last two years. However, I’m worried that even if my last two years are very high but my cgpa is low (<3.5) it won’t matter. Do they really only care about last 60 credits or do they just say that but then when comparing applicants they look at cgpa?

12 hour minimum

when people say its a minimum 12 hour average for the quarter- they mean minimum 12 hours across every four months right? So the first quarter would be January - April? I’m working less than 12 hours this week and last week but I plan to pick up a bunch of shifts next week to make up for it.

Considering law school but not a fan of debating

I’m currently a second year bsc psych student and have started considering a career in law. I am really passionate about social justice and enjoy public speaking. However, I’m worried that I won’t be able to be a decent lawyer if I’m not great at debate. Is this required to be a good lawyer?

Sorry if this is a dumb question lol I’m still very new to the whole application process and field.

edit: sorry for the cluelessness lol until now I wanted to pursue medicine but I soon realized that I don’t like it as much as I thought I did. My partner’s mother is a lawyer and she works in public healthcare regulation (she’s a ceo of a regulatory college) so that’s where I believed that my interested in protecting the public could intersect with law.
