Got back into cycling recently, riding almost every day after picking up a new road bike. Felt amazing… until today.

Was on a shared path, coming up to a woman walking her dog. She moved the dog in, I gave a heads up, all good. Then right as I’m about to pass, she lets the dog wander straight back into my line.

No time to react properly, swerved hard, lost control, and slid about 10m along the pavement.

Bike’s scraped, I’m scraped, ego definitely worse off.

Anyone else had close calls like this on shared paths? Starting to feel like they’re more dangerous than the road sometimes.
