I’m in my solar and tropical era lately 🌞🌺🌴

I’ve always wanted to add Alien Goddess by Mugler to my collection but I never really got around to it. And finally, here it is! Lately, I’ve been loving a lot of “vacation in a bottle” scents, so this one is a perfect addition to my tropical collection.

Ang appealing kasi ng presentation ng Mugler fragrances sa akin. I am thinking of getting the Angel Nova and Alien Hypersense next 😍

Atheeri by Lattafa 🐝🍯

Atheeri by Lattafa is supposed to be a dupe for Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid (the yellow one). I’ve smelled Gorgeous Orchid before, but it was a long time ago so nakalimutan ko na talaga yung eksaktong scent nya. Apologies are in order beforehand as I won’t be able to really do a comparison between the two. Instead, I’m going to talk about Atheeri based on its own merits.

Atheeri opens up with sweet florals. To me, the florals are yellow in color. The sweetness here has a flower nectar-like quality that makes it lighter than say, a thick, dense, and honeyed sweetness. Immediately, I get that creamy and warm vanilla mixing beautifully with the sweet florals.

After a while, the woody facets come through. Pero for me, hindi ko lang gusto yung ambery woodiness nya as it registers as slightly screechy to my nose. However, I can get past that since the screechiness doesn’t really linger in the drydown.

And speaking of the drydown, the scent doesn’t really change much. The sweet florals, the vanilla, and the woods are still there. Ang nawala lang is yung screechiness ng amberwood. The overall composition becomes smoother and smoother the longer it stays on your skin.

There is supposed to be some fruitiness here, but I don’t really get that on my skin. To my nose, Atheeri is warm, creamy with a very subtle powderiness to it that gives it that airiness despite it being sweet.

Given the scent profile, pwede siya kapag medyo okay lang yung panahon. Hindi masyadong mainit, hindi masyadong malamig. I’m pretty sure that it’ll get cloying pretty fast if you wear this during this season.

Projection is intimate at best. Hindi masyadong malakas. Longevity-wise, it’s okay lang. I find that it completely disappears on my skin in the 5th-hour mark.

Overall, as someone who likes sweet florals, this is a yes for me. I mean, kita na sa dent that this bottle is well-loved 😅. I got this from a Qatar-based seller, by the way.

Fashionably London by Zara 🪵🥀

Fashionably London is Zara’s collaboration w/ Jo Malone and I knew that I had to try one. I was contemplating between Elegantly Tokyo and Fashionably London at that time, but I decided to opt for the latter because the scent profile is something that I still don’t have in my collection.

Fashionably London has that dry, woody aspect in the opening. Then after a while, I get the rose. It’s not of the syrupy and jammy quality, but more like the kind of fresh roses that has been sitting in the vase for hours. The dry, woody aspect is still there but it’s more in the background.

As the scent develops on my skin, interestingly, parang nandito na tayo sa phase na unti-unti na nagdadry yung rose. And then the muskiness comes into the picture, mixing in with the slightly dry and withering rose.

Unfortunately, I find the musk kind of screechy. Mas prominent ito sa nose ko instead of the rose during the drydown and I think it was kind of off-putting.

But all in all, it’s a nice, dry, and sort of a freshie scent. I say “sort of” because it can be headache-inducing, especially sa mga tao na hindi masyadong mahilig sa perfumes. When I wore this, my husband told me na nahihilo daw siya dito kasi medyo malakas.

And that is true. I gave a coworker a decant of it and nung sinuot nya, amoy na amoy namin siya kahit medyo malayo kami ng kaunti sa kanya. Given that, okay na siguro ang 1-3 sprays dito since the projection can be really strong.

As for the longevity, I find that I get at least 4-5 hours on my skin. Overall, I was impressed with the composition save for that screechy musky undertone. For that price, I think this is already a bang for the buck. Bonus pa na magnetic din yung cap nya and the presentation looks more expensive for its price.

This is a like, not a love for me. Okay naman siya, but it’s not something that I will repurchase. But I’m still curious to try the other Zara olfactive collection.

Hawas Pink by Rasasi

I got Hawas Pink by Rasasi because the notes really spoke to me. Unfortunately, there was no way for me to test it back then because this was a new release when I bought it. So yeah, I had to blind buy.

Hawas Pink opens up woody and spicy. In the initial spray, I got the orange blossom but it was really fleeting. I love orange blossom, but it only lasted for about 5 seconds until it completely disappeared on my skin. It made way for the woody and spicy accords that I find too overwhelming. I’m mostly getting a cinnamon bark-like smell and nutmeg. To me, it kinda smells like Christmas but the amber really put me off because I find it really overdone in this composition.

It also has a sweetness in it. Like a marshmallow-like sweetness. Imagine opening a packet of marshmallows and then you take a whiff, that’s how it smells like to me. But it was too cloyingly sweet for my liking. And that’s saying a lot because I like sweet fragrances. This one took sweetness to the next level and upped it x10.

In the drydown, I can still the cinnamon, nutmeg, and resinous-like vanilla. And then if I sniff really close to my skin, may something na nagreregister as parang “soapy”, akin to that of an Irish spring bar soap.

Medyo nakakahilo din yung blend because it’s too strong. Projection is also a beast. Kahit one spray lang, amoy na amoy na agad ako ng husband ko. Longevity is also good. It lasts at least 8-10 hours on my skin.

I still wear it kapag naka-AC ako pero isang spray lang talaga then nag-decant ako for my friend who likes it. I guess baka ibigay ko nalang sa kanya ito hehe. This is not for me. 🥲
