I got my CEH Certification. SO what now?

I’m honestly feeling a bit lost about what my next move should be and would really appreciate guidance from people already working in cybersecurity.

Background:

  • BCA + MCA (cyber security)
  • Recently got CEH certified
  • Fresher with no professional cyber experience yet

The thing is, I’ve realized I’m much more interested in the investigative side of cybersecurity rather than hardcore coding or exploit development. I genuinely enjoy:

  • digital forensics
  • OSINT
  • incident investigation
  • cybercrime/fraud analysis
  • threat intelligence

But when I look at the actual job market, especially in India, most fresher openings seem to be SOC Analyst roles. I’m confused about what path makes the most sense strategically.

Should I:

  • target SOC Analyst roles first and later pivot into DFIR/forensics?
  • focus directly on forensics/OSINT skills even if fresher roles are limited?
  • build more labs/projects before applying?

Also, since I’m not a very heavy coder, I’d appreciate realistic advice on which cyber domains are actually a good fit long term.

Would really appreciate some guidance.

I am furious and exhausted. This needs to stop.

On 28 April 2026, I ordered what was clearly listed as a brand new ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme (RC71L-NH001W) from Flipkart for ₹51,990. The seller was DealsPeDealsIndia.

Yesterday it was delivered via open-box delivery. I recorded everything because I was suspicious. later, when I checked the BIOS on the device, I knew what I received was outright fraud.

Proof of Scam:

- Serial numbers don’t match

Box Serial: 90NV0GY1M000C0

Actual Device (BIOS) Serial: R6NVKD00772326B

- Official ASUS warranty check → Warranty expired in July 2024 (almost 2 years ago)

- No Xbox Game Pass code anywhere that was listed on the merchant page.

They took my ₹52,000 and sent me an old/refurbished unit sold as brand new.

What Flipkart is doing:

Despite multiple chats, calls, return request, and screenshots, they are delaying, stalling, and giving zero resolution. Their official Twitter account just asked me to move to DM instead of fixing it. They have not agreed to return my product.

I have already:

- Emailed ASUS for official confirmation

- Filed complaint in National Consumer Forum

- Issue will be taken to court. I am undergoing legal proceedings

🚨 I need your help.

Let me know if you’ve faced similar issues with DealsPeDealsIndia or high-value electronics on Flipkart.

Tag Flipkart on Twitter/X and demand they resolve this immediately.

Also, whats funny is flipkart's response when I posted this issue on X. THEY ASKED ME TO DELETEEEE IT!

Especially exposing the seller: DealsPeDealsIndia. They are the ones supplying these old units, and Flipkart is shielding them.

This is not just about my ₹52k. If they can do this with a ROG Ally, they are doing it with phones, laptops, and other expensive gadgets to hundreds of customers. Today it’s me. Tomorrow it can be any of you.

I have everything documented: the full unboxing video, invoice, BIOS screenshots, warranty proof, all of it. I’m not backing down until this is resolved.

A lot of people give up, but I’m choosing to fight. Companies need to understand there are serious consequences when they violate customer rights. If my case gets attention, it could help others like me and expose these unethical, illegal practices.

I really need your support to take this forward.

Who else has been cheated by third-party sellers on Flipkart? Let’s expose this together.

TL;DR: Flipkart seller DealsPeDealsIndia sold old 2024 expired ROG Ally as new. Flipkart protecting the seller and delaying refund. Need community pressure.

My parents think I'm a failure because I write books and work in IT instead of chasing another MPSC notification. Anyone else exhausted by this Manipur govt job obsession?

I'm so damn tired of it. Every single call from home turns into

"Have you applied for that govt exam yet?"

"You can't stay in corporate forever."

"You have to come back home someday."

There's just no peace of mind. My goals are finally aligned with my work now but they dont care. Tbh I left Manipur right after graduation because I couldnt find any job there. I sat for MPSC like everyone expected but the thrill wasnt there at all. Its just not my thing and nobody wants to accept that.

I work as a writer in an IT company now. I've published three books. But nah, that doesn't count. In their eyes (and in the eyes of so much of our society), I'm still a failure because I'm not a "secured" govt servant.

The education system, the family pressure, the entire wiring of our brains, it's all "grow up → graduate → apply for govt job → die peacefully with pension.

So what if you actually want to live authentically?

Most of my friends who were so ambitious are now stuck in the same loop, trying to live up to everyones expectations even when they know there are no real options.

I know I might sound like a hypocrite because I'm still working in corporate, being a slave to the same system I resent so much. But this is not what I want for my whole life. One day I want to live authentically without needing to serve anyone. I’d rather be a “corporate slave” with a functioning brain and some savings than let my intelligence wither away back home while waiting for a government handout.

Our state is in deep crisis: economic paralysis, high youth unemployment, supply chains broken, businesses suffering. Yet the mentality remains: depend on the central government like loyal dogs for everything. Basic survival needs, funds, jobs. No self-sufficiency. No questioning why production is so low, why private enterprise and local businesses are treated like side quests, why we keep producing graduates whose only ambition is to become another link in the government chain.

When you become resourceful on your own and build real skills you create your own money and freedom. That financial stability actually lets you give back to Manipur properly instead of staying broke and dependent. You can start something, bring ideas, create jobs that dont rely on government notifications, instead of sitting for exams designed to reject thousands.

Growing up, I always wondered why nobody thought: "Build your own skills. Grow an independent business. Don't trade your freedom for illusory security and lifelong chains."

If I had stayed back endlessly trying for exams while my spirit died, I'd be a dumbass loser with zero intelligence and zero ability to contribute anything meaningful.

Just wanted to vent.
