FTM and very anxious about measles outbreaks. Baby’s grandparent is flying to Miami and back this week. To my best knowledge he is vaccinated against measles but I will double check. If he is exposed to someone on the plane who has measles, will he carry the virus home and would the baby be at risk?

I’m asking because we have Mother’s Day plans on Sunday and I’m wondering if I should cancel. Obviously we wouldn’t know if there was a person sick with the virus for several days/weeks later and if the grandparent starts showing symptoms it would probably be after we get together on Sunday.
What would you do? Am I being overly paranoid?

TLDR; if grandparent is exposed to someone with measles on plane but is vaccinated, can the virus still be transmissible to infant?

ETA UPDATE: my dad, the traveling grandparent, promptly called his doctor to find out if he was vaccinated. The pcp office has no record of him being vaccinated so he went right to the pharmacy to get his MMR shot. Thank you so much to this community for all your guidance and insight on how to care for our vulnerable little ones!
