BGC vs Makati

Hey all.

I'm moving to Manila next week. My parents moved to BGC last year and I had visited over the holidays. And while I liked it, it did remind me of Las Vegas for some reason. I get why my parents moved there as they are older and it has all the amenities they would need. I did rent an AirBnb at BGC for a few weeks to buy me time to look for an apartment.

I have been looking at Makati and found an apartment at The Rise. I believe it's in North Makati. How is that area? I'm technically retiring early and would like to have a good balance of the amenities of BGC but with a bit more culture if that makes sense. My main hobby is photography but I do enjoy trying out new restaurants and grabbing drinks. Also, I don't plan on purchasing a vehicle for my first year in case I realize this was all a midlife crisis lol. So being walking distance or a short Grab drive from the heart of the city would be nice.

Not sure if this is important but I am a 40 year old single FILAM and finding a girlfriend isn't my current priority. Just looking for an area that would suit my lifestyle and would be easier to be social and meet new people.

TIA!

Hey all.

Oppo advertises you can charge from 0-100 in 47m with their SuperVOOC charger. I just used the included 80w charger used with a 100w adapter for US standards, and charged 20-100 in 53m. I'm assuming a full 1-100 would take around an hour and 20 minutes. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I do see the alert that the phone recognizes a SuperVOOC charger. I would occasionally check AmpereFlow app and showed the phone would be drawing usually 18w-25w and peaking rarely at 30w. Curious to know other user experiences.

I'm moving to the Philippines and was curious how you are handling mail. I have a home but plan on renting it out while I'm gone leaving me with no mailbox. Is there a service where you can have your mail sent directly to and have it forwarded to the Philippines? Also, when it comes to buying items back home and having it shipped to the Philippines, what's a reliable company? So far I have read about shiptobox.com. Looks like they buy it for you and can ship it out to whatever foreign country you live in.

TIA!

Hi all.

I've been using GameNative to run my Steam games but have noticed throttling once temps get around 69C-70C causing frame drops.

I ended up using Shizuku and Magic Tuner to install Canta to uninstall Power Monitor and the battery app. This has prevented throttling but also increases the risk of high temps. I'm able to play The Long Dark now with no frame drops and sustaining 55-60fps with temps stable at 67C-68C which I'm totally happy with. However, I tried the game Replaced and while frames were excellent temps quickly reached 93C for CPU and 100C for the GPU. I wasn't comfortable with this and quickly turned it off.

I guess what I'm asking is there other alternatives to prevent CPU throttling? Maybe like an app where you can set thermal limit?

TIA!

Edit: Using Oppo Find N6

If anyone is interested, I have the LiberNovo for sale in Orange County , CA. I’ve had it for 4 months but will be moving out the country so I won’t be needing it. DM me if interested.
