Need help with Puerto Rico itinerary, please!
I was supposed to go to Thailand for my 30th bday in May, but that got canceled due to the Middle East escalations. I’ve now decided to go to Puerto Rico, but I have to start planning asap!
My family is Puerto Rican and I’d go there every 2-3 years growing up, but we mainly would stay with family and would hit the local spots. I’ve never gone without family and haven’t been back since before covid. It’ll be me and my bf. I’m excited to show him around but stressed about where to stay and where to go. I would love to stay in a nicer hotel, but nothing too expensive (less than $250/night). I want to have walkability, beaches and/or a good pool, delicious restaurants around. I really want to do a day trip to el yunque/luquillo beach.
This is what I’m thinking so far: Day 1: Arrive by 12pm. Stay somewhere near old San Juan / Condado area etc
Days 1-5: -Be in San Juan areas. El Morro, old San Juan, beaches, restaurants. Take 1 day to do the tour to el yunque/luquillo beach
Day 6-7: -Travel to Vieques OR Culebra and stay 1 night
Day 7-8: -head back to San Juan for 1 night and fly home 8AM
Is this doable? If you have any recommendations on where to stay, that would be super helpful. Or, if I should skip Culebra/Vieques and go elsewhere for a night or two, I’m open to suggestions!!
