Is online microstakes No Limit cash good for practice for live, when limit is the only available cash game where I live (wa state)?

I used to only play online, took a small break(1yr), and started playing at a local place that offers some tourneys but the cash games are limited so it's usually 3-20 spread holdem that I play(I hate Omaha lol)

basically what I'm asking is would playing NLHE online be that much of a difference than LHE live other than the fact that it seems much softer live? would I still get the benefit of seeing a high rate of hands online, even if it's a completely different betting strategy?
