I had a listing taken down today. It’s a sculpture based on Sheela na Gigs, which are carvings that have been found in churches dating back over 900 years. They feature a very simplistic depiction of a vulva, no more graphic than something like a Sonny Angel or the Mannequin Pis. They’re completely non-sexual, kind of like a gargoyle in appearance, so I firmly believe they are compliant with Etsy’s guidelines. However I have no option to appeal this removal and when I tried to email about it I just got an automatic response. Should I keep trying to get the removal appealed or just re-upload with the vulva censored? They’ve been selling well for the past year, pretty much my only successful product, and now I’m worried that they just won’t get traffic if I change the listing. I feel like censoring it will make people think they’re far more graphic than they actually are. I have searched previous posts but haven’t found anything relevant to my specific situation, so I would appreciate any help with this!
