what was the other messages the other theater commanders sent to the combined chiefs of staff when their theaters of operations were concluded?

for example

Following Germany's unconditional surrender on May 7, 1945, General Dwight D. Eisenhower sent a concise, historic message to the Combined Chiefs of Staff: "The mission of this Allied Force was fulfilled at 0241, local time, May 7th, 1945"

is there any historical records of what

nimitz /macarthur/ stilwell/ mountbatten (pacific ocean area, southwest pacific, china india burma, southeast pacific) sent to the combined chiefs of staffs for their victory messages?

Why was Lloyd fredenhall such a bad general in ww2?

fredenhall was characterized with

extreme cowardice, micromanagement from a hidden rear headquarters, and failure to understand modern armored warfare.

now I'm wondering just how did someone like him ever make to flag rank in the first place?

lloyd went to West point but got dismissed

Fredendall attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1903 to 1904 as a member of the class of 1907.[6] He took the officer's qualifying exam in 1906, and scored first out of 70 applicants. On February 13, 1907, he received his commission in the United States Army as a second lieutenant in the Infantry Branch.

participated in ww1 ended at Lt colonel for temporary rank

Fredendall assigned, like many other officers, to a variety of staff and training duties. He was both student and instructor at the U.S. Army Infantry School; was a 1923 distinguished graduate (placing 31 out of 151) of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff School; and in 1925, he graduated from the U.S. Army War College

even Marshall recommended him for a command in ww2

so really on paper he crossed all the ts essentially went through the same training as required to become a general for his time so how did he do so poorly In WW2?

what do you think?

Why is the current military brass shake up such a big news event?

from what I read in the 1930s when general George Marshall assumed command as chief of staff he purged 600 officers.

in 1940-1941 Marshall forced several hundred more senior officers into retirement

during ww2 itself Marshall sacked at least 21 generals

this is just the army

who knows what the navy did with their overhauls

of course in modern times I guess this would be not normal but if we already have precedence like this why would the current shakeup be such a shocking thing? unless the current shakeups are non performance related with obvious ulterior motives

what do you think?

Constitution class engineering blast doors?

How is this isolation door in the constitution refit main engineering supposed to work? Is this massive plasma/whatever conduit really split in two by it without any specialties built into the door? It’s just going down like that splitting the conduit in two.

Wouldn't the Phoenix be boring by the 24th century?

you got starships that can warp 9.999999 and loaded with all the best amenities you could imagine.

yet 2380s people are still excited to ride on a ship that's essentially warp engines strapped to a icbm
