the US court has officially ruled in favor of granting Bang Chan the information about the X accounts that created deepfakes of him
Back in September 2025, it was revealed that Bang Chan had placed a request to identify the users behind several accounts that created and spread deepfakes of him on Twitter/X so that their information can then be taken to file a civil defamation lawsuit in Korea. Today, it was revealed that it has been approved for him to obtain that information. This is such great news, especially given that people on the Internet have gotten too comfortable with speaking on celebrities and thinking that the anonymity of an Internet account will protect them from that slander. Between Jackson Wang directly calling out an account on X, Giselle directly addressing people claiming that she "has a new face every day", and now Bang Chan being allowed to obtain the personal information needed to sue these accounts, I hope idols become more comfortable with fighting back against the bad comments being made constantly about them.
