We are so back !
Huge win for r/2new4u. It got banned after it's first 17hrs in operation and now it's officially UNBANNED.
Thank you to the admins who share the same vision as I do for giving a space for noobs of reddit to post stuff. Looking forward to becoming the largest noob subreddit on this sites history. And thank you to all the users who supported me an my vision.
Is this a bug?
The old app had /all and /popular with the ability to sort content by new/best/hot/top/rising/controversial etc. Now it seems that option is gone on the default popular. The content is sorted by either "hot" or "best". This is different from browser where you still have the ability to choose how it's sorted.
The issue I see in this is it makes it harder for new subreddits to be seen. Only users on desktop/browser will be able to sort content by "new" which is important for small subreddits. This current way will only show the large and established groups to app users.

My new sub, with a new purpose than the last
Previous Thread 1
Previous Thread 2
After careful consideration I have taken the helpful information and responses from this sub and recreated a new subreddit with a more defined purpose. The last sub r/2new4u was misunderstood as a karmafarm sub but it's intentions were to provide a space for new users to discuss topics or share images that they may not be allowed to in other bigger subs due to account restrictions.
Well now r/2random4u has a much clearer purpose. It's simply a subreddit for discussing and sharing anything. From arts to science to memes. Think /b/ but SFR(safe for reddit).
New users are still welcome but the subreddit is no longer being advertised as a place for low karma accounts. Infact I will be setting up restrictions against negative karma users to prevent spam.
Only minutes old but I ask if anyone would consider joining me as a mod with full permissions. You don't have to do anything as far as setting it up(even though you are welcome too) but I think the sub would look better in reddits eyes if I had another mod with me. Also open to any ideas you may have about growing this particular sub. Again it's for random discussion and image sharing(images are required for posts).
Thanks.
17hrs later my sub is banned. This must be a record
r/2new4u
Was fun while it lasted. To have such power as a moderator was intoxicating.
Officially a reddit moderator
r/2new4u is for noobs who need a place to post without the need for karma or CQS. Site rules still apply.
question. is it against the rules to send invites to peoples dms? Like if I go to r/newtoreddit there's people everyday asking about why they can't post anywhere. Am I good to dm them saying, "yo join my sub you can post here"...or is that considered spam?. I don't wanna get banned.
edit: this is not a karmafarm/ beg for karma/ upvote party sub. I made a rule about it (no asking for karma).
Is it possible to range block indian posters?
Theres alot of Indian bots trolling online. How can I range block every indian on reddit?
