Think I finally kind of Lucid Dreamed for the first time

Ok so I long time ago I started trying to lucid dream to no success, and then a few days ago I had a really weird dream and wrote about it (ik dream journaling can help so maybe that kicked something up cause it was a very vivid dream that I remember well). Last night I woke up and couldn’t move and looked over and saw my ex gf who I broke up with recently and I was like you can’t be here I must be dreaming, and then I looked at my hand and it was distorted (this was the reality check I was using but I haven’t done it in a long time so kinda weird that I automatically did it) then I know I was dreaming and said that to my ex but then I woke up. Went back to sleep a little bit later, I was at a rockets lakers game with my sisters sitting courtside and my sister looked at me funny and asked “did you just wake up” this time I was intentionally like oh this has to be a dream, checked my hand and it was distorted so I looked back at my sisters and said “I have to talk to someone” and proceeded to run onto the court to find LeBron (why not talk to LeGreatness while he was there) but then he looked like a ps2 character kind of, so I was like ok maybe if I blink he’ll look normal, I blinked and then immediately woke up, bummer but this marks the first time I’ve actually realized I was dreaming in a dream. Any advice to keep it rolling after I have that realization?

Just watched The Last Crusade for the first time

Hey all you’ve maybe seen my past couple posts talking about seeing Raiders and Temple of Doom for the first time and I just wrapped up the og trilogy with my first watch of Last Crusade. I really liked it, really cool getting more backstory on Indy and seeing his relationship with his dad. Even though I’ve just experienced his movies over the past couple days, the cut from young Indy getting the hat to present Indy on the boat gave me chills! Seeing how his dad was super distant and wanted Indy to rely on himself was interesting and explains how Indy can handle himself so much. The bad guys were great (Elsa in particular Indy is such a horn dog he couldn’t help himself but she got what she deserved in the end). The tank and boat scenes where stand outs for me, and I love how they just leave the grail (something’s are better left alone) also loved the design cause of course it’s just gonna be a regular ass cup. The escape from the castle was great and I love the running gag of his dad fucking up. I definitely liked it a lot but I think it just kinda fell a little short of the magic of the first two I can’t quite put my finger on it but I just had more fun with raiders and temple for some reason. If I’m scoring/ranking them I’d probably go 1. Raiders of the Lost Ark 9.5/10 2.Temple of Doom 8.5/10 3.Last Crusade 8/10 I think Raiders had better action and more iconic set pieces and Temple was more fun and also full of Iconic moments. I’m gonna take a break from Indy for now and watch KotCS and DoD in a few weeks I got some other movies in the backlog I wanna watch and am gonna rewatch the Lord of the Rings trilogy next since I haven’t seen them since I was a kid. Overall very glad I finally got around to watching them and adding a new favorite series to my list. Let me know your thoughts on The Last Crusade and just the OG trilogy in general. Great movies!!!

Edit cause I realized something that kind of holds it back for me as well, conidering this is the last installment of the original trilogy, it didn’t really feel like the end of a trilogy more like just another installment, that is something I typically look for in final installments so hopefully dial of destiny can give me that sort of closure

Just watched Temple of Doom for the first time

Hey all, some of you may have seen my post yesterday about watching Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time (can’t believe I hadn’t seen it till now and loved it) and I couldn’t help myself and decided to watch Temple of Doom tonight. I really liked it! The thing I like most about Temple is Indy is truly a hero who’s doing something completely selfless (maybe mostly selfless cause he does need a guide to Delhi), not that he’s a bad guy in Raiders but he definitely has his own stake in finding the Ark and saving Marion. Definitely feels like they kicked up the action as well, the opening was another great scene and the mine cart set piece was fucking awesome. Ke Huy Quan is awesome as shorty and is probably one of my favorite child actor performances I’ve seen and my favorite side character thus far. I really liked the Evil Indy under mind control bit and shorty saving him was a great moment. Very heartwarming ending as well. One thing I didn’t love though was Willie, she definitely grew on me, but I didn’t really like her with Indy especially in comparison to Marion, felt like they couldn’t get her back for this one or something. The antagonist was also not as interesting as Belloq (I’m a fan of dark reflection of the protagonist villains though), and felt very much like evil for evils sake which did work just not as well as I would’ve liked. Overall I still really liked it, I’d give Raiders a 9.5/10 and Temple probably an 8.5/10. Definitely planning on watching Last Crusade tomorrow. Let me know your thoughts on Temple!

Edit cause I forgot to add this, but love the now running gag were he fights someone twice his size and they get brutally murdered, great stuff.

Also didn’t realize it was a prequel so no Marion makes sense and Indy going for Willie makes more sense, still prefer Marion as a love interest/character though

Just watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time

Hey all, just finished Raiders and omg what a great movie! Can’t believe I haven’t seen it before, my mom’s a big Harrison Ford fan and she showed me Star Wars when I was very young but raiders somehow slipped through the cracks. My main takeaway was how awesome the set pieces were especially considering it came out in 81, the whole intro was so good and I’ve definitely seen a lot of clips from it but immediately you get the sense Indy has been doing this a long time and is very good at what he does. Marion was such a great side character/love interest, the Nazi guy (can’t remember his name but loved seeing him melt) and Belloq were great antagonists and Indy is such a likable badass. The chase scene where Indy hijacks the truck was definitely my favorite part, and I thought very creative especially when he crawls himself under the truck, so cool! I like the occult stuff and definitely see where uncharted (great games I’m playing through right now) got a lot of its inspiration. So I’m just curious cause a lot of the times sequels aren’t as good and I’ve heard a lot of negatives about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny, should I watch all 5 or just the original trilogy, I’m definitely hooked for at least Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. Let me know what you think or if you just wanna talk about how good Raiders is cause I freaking loved it.
