Hi everyone,

I'm planning a stay via a working holiday visa in Canada for about four months next year. I'm currently employed in Germany and want to keep my job. I would cover this time through unpaid leave and vacation days.

Can I take on part-time jobs in Canada and simultaneously be on vacation with my German employer? Are there any tax implications I need to consider? There should be no double tax if I work less than half a year in Canada.

Would it also be possible to work for my German employer from Canada on my visa (with reduced hours to also see the country) provided my German employer allows this?

I still need to clarify the details with my employer and would appreciate hearing about your experiences beforehand. Thanks for any input!
