Five Piece Speedlang Challenge!

Immediately, I want to clarify that this was 100% inspired by this post by u/Dense-Nobody2714! Go check that out too!

This challenge is super similar to that but a little different as well. Today I have five words for you (which are also listed above on the second slide):

Diftheret (waking up)

Alh (imperative marker)

Ndaori (between)

Hjotrtu (fish)

Kvuirefe (ourselves)

Your task is to form a mini-conlang from these words, such that you can make a sentence using one or more of these words, reanalyzing, and mangling them as you want.

Feel free to choose their exact parts of speech, give or take conjugations, add phonetic transcriptions (i.e. revealing that hjortru is actually pronounced "ghoti" for example), adjust words to a new phonology or system of phonotactics, or do all or none of that, or something else! (The world is your oyster!)

Please leave me any questions/comments/concerns you might have!

This is an alternate/updated version of my first flag for this week, based on some feedback I received on it!

Like with the original design, the patterns are made to reference both Native American and European cultural patterns, thus representing how Montana's residents come from many traditions and heritages.

On this design, the patterns make up the entirety of the flag, placing a stronger emphasis on the idea that tradition is what ties different peoples together.

The colors are white, yellow and blue, to represent Montana's motto (Oro y Plata, Spanish for gold and silver) and its (unofficial) nickname, the Big Sky State. The yellow and white are heraldic colors for gold and silver, and the blue represents the sky.

Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback on the original design!

This is a sort of cousin to my first entry to this week's flag friday. I decided to lean away from the mountain design, since it is a very popular concept, and go for a different symbol that is still very "Montana" -- the bison skull.

The diamond pattern (like with my first design, intended as a mix of European and Native designs) surrounds one central diamond with a geometric bison skull dead-center. The skull is a common symbol of Montana usually attributed to the artwork of Charles M Russel, who highlighted many of the hardships but also happier times of the residents of Montana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The gold and silver (heraldic colors for yellow and white) come from the state motto (Oro y Plata) and the blue is from the common nickname the Big Sky State.

The exact pattern of the diamonds is meant to both invoke the idea of the rivers, streams, and lakes that keep the beautiful Montana nature alive, and to represent the many different regions and all the people within them uniting under one identity (Montana, represented as a whole by the central diamond and bison skull).

The borders of the diamonds also form multiple zig-zags that look like an M for Montana.

The colors are slightly lighter than my first design for well no particular reason. It's a sunny day on the plains I guess. The skull is also made of trapezoids which (this may be a stretch) could be used to represent the buttes and plateaus mostly found in north-ish central Montana.

Anyhow, thank you!

This is a slightly edited version of a flag I posted here a while back, with the aspect ratio changed to 2x3 for a more standard look.

The pattern on the bottom is made to reference both Native American and European cultural patterns, thus representing how Montana's residents come from many traditions and heritages.

At the top of the flag and on the hoist side there are two mountains, representing both the Rocky Mountains and Montana's name, which is an Anglicization of montaña (Spanish for Mountain). They also form Montana's outline and a vague M shape.

The colors are white, yellow and blue, to represent Montana's motto (Oro y Plata, Spanish for gold and silver) and its (unofficial) nickname, the Big Sky State. The yellow and white are heraldic colors for gold and silver, and the blue represents the sky.

Thank you!

This is the third part of my 3-part series where I have covered the main principles of Yosmonno, those being derivation, compression, and shortening.

IPA for the terms I mentioned in this post:

xńepḿem [ŋ̊͡ŋe̞p̪ɱe̞m]; vońmoḿn [vo̞ŋmo̞ɱː]; mapabazas [mäpäbäzäs]; vańamhovl [väŋämʱo̞vˡ]; amańas [ämäŋäs]; amańa [ämäŋä]; ôhvô [ʌvʱʌ]

You can find part 1 here and part 2 here!
